Lake Powell Itinerary
Just 65 miles from Kanab along US89 lies the desert oasis Lake Powell. The 186-mile long lake lies mostly in Utah and straddles the Utah/Arizona border. This remarkable area offers unlimited recreational opportunities, both on the water and along it’s nearly 2,000 miles of shoreline.
Lake Powell offers gorgeous scenery and beaches, plus boating, fishing, and access to dozens of canyons. Bring your own boat or rent one there. You have the option of renting a powerboat for one or multiple days or even a houseboat. It is best to make reservations in advance to ensure availability.

Spend the day swimming or boating at Lone Rock Beach, with a view of spectacular Lone Rock rising from the lake.
Access to the Lake is in two main areas, Bullfrog or Wahweap. There are various marinas at each end of the lake where you can launch or rent a boat. Lake Powell is just 65 minutes from Kanab, Utah, so on the way, or on your return trip to Kanab or other areas, enjoy the Wahweap and Rimrock Hoodoo formations that border the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument.
