Kanab - a charming western town, will be celebrating the 150th year since being founded on June 14, 1870. Kanab boasts the all-woman town council, the first in the country! Kanab celebrates 150 years as a town in 2020. Discover the rich history while exploring the incredible natural wonders that surround this charming, Pioneer town. Throughout the Sesquicentennial year, you can experience our history through tangible locations and events. Learn about the women that helped shaped this town, treasure hunting for the Montezuma Treasure, movie making in Kanab’s “Little Hollywood” and more in one of our itineraries, or create an itinerary of your own as you read some of our featured stories.

 

We will be celebrating Kanab’s 150th birthday all year long, take a look at the many events to come below.

-Kane County Office of Tourism “Kanab – Find Your Magic” Movie Premier

-Movie in the Park & Crescent Moon Theater will be showing movies filmed in Kanab and surrounding Kane County. **Date(s) to be determined**

-Rollaway Saloon – Catch the Rollaway Saloon at different featured locations throughout the week!

-Kanab Recipe Collection -A collection of local favorite recipes that have been passed down through many generations of Mormon Pioneer families and area Native American families.

-Kanab City Pool – Enjoy swimming at the Kanab City Pool ***event subject to change***

-Jacob Hamblin Days – To end the week join us June 19 & 20 for a ranch rodeo in honor of local pioneer Jacob Hamblin at the Kaneplex 3 miles South of Kanab overlooking Jackson Flat Reservoir.
