The “REEL” Deal Fishing Derby Tagged Fish

1. This is an Angler Tournament.

2. Eligible Species: Rainbow Trout

3. Bait: Live or Artificial

4.  Fishing starts at 1pm, Oct 25, 2019 and ends Dec. 31, 2019 for people that are entered in the Jr. or Open Derby, and to the public Oct. 27, 2019 at 7 am.

5. All fishing and angling methods must comply with current Federal and State fishing Regulations. All Anglers must have a valid fishing license, Jr. Anglers included.

6. Fish must be caught by hook and line. Hand held rods and reels only.

7. Eligible fish may be caught by land, Kayak or any boat in compliance with Jackson Flat Reservoirs policies.  Electric Motors only (Any size boat is allowed even if it has a gas motor, but the gas motor MUST be propped up and the boat is only propelled by an electric motor or oars. No gas motor is able to be used at Jackson Flat)

8. Fish can be brought in dead or alive.

9. Trout CANNOT be released! If you catch them you must harvest them regardless of the size. They will count as part of your daily limit. NO EXECTIONS!

10. Fish can be brought to The Kane County Events and Volunteer Center Monday-Friday 9-5 to redeem for prized. Cash prizes will be given in check form the following week. If we are not in the office during those hours we may be on another event and you can leave a message at one of the phone numbers on the door.

****THERE WILL BE A TOTAL OF 100 TAGGED FISH.  If you catch a tagged fish, you get the prize that coordinates to the number on the tag along with any other winnings you may get.

If you were a participant in the Derby and catch a tagged fish after the event, you will not only get the prize but we will give you your entry fee back up until the deadline.

THE “REEL” DEAL FISHING DERBY RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME THROUGH THE COMPLETION OF THE CAPTAINS MEETING ON OCT. 25, 2019 12:45 PM. ANGLERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR STAYING CURRENT ON ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS THROUGH THE COMPLETION OF THE TOURNAMENT ITSELF.

Tournament starts 11 am on Friday Oct 25th. This is a two day combined weight tournament.

1. Day 1: Captain’s Meeting is mandatory for each registered Angler it starts at 12:45 pm. It will be the same location as the check in. You must check-in between 11am and 12:45pm Oct. 25, 2019 at designated location near boat ramp. Bring any ice chests, boats you will have during the derby, they will be checked. Day 2: Anglers and ice chests/boats need to be checked in by 6:45am on Oct. 26, 2019.

2. The rules may be changed, at any time, through the Captain’s Meeting.

3. This is an Angler Tournament. All Anglers must be paid and registered prior to midnight, Oct. 23, 2019.  No refund of entry fees.

4. Eligible Species: Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Catfish, Largemouth Bass and Bluegill. You can use any or a combination of the species listed for weigh in. Only Rainbow Trout will be the fished tagged for additional prizes.

6. Day 1: Fishing starts at 1pm, Oct 25, 2019. No lines in water prior to this time. A horn will sound when the event begins.  Day 2: Fishing starts at 7am, Oct 26, 2019. No lines in water prior to this time. A horn will sound when the event begins.

ATTENTION:

IF you have a boat or watercraft you will be using during this fishing derby, it is mandatory that you complete an online Mussel-Aware Boater training prior to event and you must have your certificate with you at check-in. NO EXCEPTIONS! Link below:

10. Life Jacket must be worn on the water during tournament. You will be disqualified if you take it off before you are on land. There will be spotters watching for rule breakers.

11. Fish can be weighed in dead or alive. No rotten or mutilated fish will be weighed.

12. All fish will be weighed in at the boat ramp parking lot at designated times. There is a limit of 4 fish per person. BRING YOUR OWN SEATS FOR WEIGH IN. You may NOT leave and comeback with your fish. If you have to leave you can take your fish to early weigh in which will end your day of fishing. If you catch your limit and want to weigh in early you can.

13.  Day 1 Tournament weigh-in will begin at 6:30 pm. Oct.25, 2019. Anglers must be in line by 6:15 pm to be eligible to weigh fish. Day 2 Tournament weigh-in will begin at 1pm. Oct. 26, 2019. Anglers must be in line by 12:45 pm to be eligible to weigh fish. NO EXCEPTIONS!

14. Any fish being weighed in containing lead or any other foreign matter will be subject to disqualification of Angler as determined by the weigh master. All fish need to be properly cared for.

15. Tie – In the event of a tie, the angler/team who has the biggest single weighing fish will be the tie breaker.

16. Be respectful to other boats. Do not encroach on their territory. Give them ample room to fish. No transferring fish between boats. Spotters will be watching for such activities.

17. Tournament Winners Must Be Present at Awards to complete a W-9 form for their winnings. It will be at the same location as weigh in on Oct. 26, 2019 directly after weigh in scores are tallied. Winnings will be paid by check the following week. They will be available for pick up at Kane County Events 30 W. Airport RD. Kanab, on Friday Nov. 1, 2019 between 9am and 5pm or can be mailed to you Friday at the address you request.

18. The Honor System applies throughout the entire tournament. Good sportsmanship is a necessity! NO CHEATING!

19. If there should be a dispute of any kind the decision of the Tournament Director will be final. Protests must be accompanied by a cash fee of $500.00 which will be returned only if the protest is upheld.

20. Tournament Directors decision is final.

21. NO helping other people catch their limit and only 1 pole per person.

22. NO Anglers allowed fishing during Tournament that are not registered. To assure this, you will have a number that must be worn at all times during tournament hours, visible to spotters.

23. Trout CANNOT be released! If you catch them you must harvest them regardless the size. NO EXECTIONS!

24. It is advised that Jr. Anglers be accompanied by an adult for safety reasons.

Tournament scores for first day will be posted on our web page @ thereeldealfishingderby and then the winners and final scores will be posted at the end of the Derby.

After the event, tagged fish can continue to be caught by participants and the public then redeemed for prizes through the year, ending Dec. 31st at midnight.
