Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park

After breakfast, head to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes to explore breathtaking scenery and 1,200 acres of vibrant pink sand. You can try sandboarding, ATV riding, hiking and more.

Moqui Cave

Check out the dinosaur tracks, Native American artifacts, and the fluorescent mineral display.  Spend some time in the gift and rock shop.

Big Al’s Burgers

Take a break for lunch at a beloved community hotspot that is family-owned and operated, offering a delectable selection of burgers, fries, and an array of milkshake flavors to satisfy any palate.

Jacob Hamblin Park

Less than a mile from beautiful downtown Kanab is Jacob Hamblin Park. Here you can cool off in the splash pad, play volleyball, basketball or tennis and then take a dip in the pool. There is also a pump track for bikes and scooters. Keep the kids busy while you take some time to relax and unwind from your busy day.

Escobar’s is a local favorite that serves a variety of Mexican dishes such as tacos, burritos and enchiladas. The restaurant is known for its flavorful food, friendly staff and casual atmosphere.

Dinosaur Tracks

Start out with and easy, kid-friendly hike! Over 20 species of dinosaurs have been discovered in this area. 185 million year old tracks from different types of animals are preserved her in slick rock outcrops.

Sand Caves

These man-made caves are easily accessed and can be seen from Highway 89.  The hike itself is an easy half mile round trip. While exploring these caves, you will notice much graffiti, please do not add to or deface them any further.

Belly of the Dragon

Next stop is quite the adventurous, scenic, little hike. This carved tunnel passes under highway 89 and is used for drainage from the upper canyons. DO NOT enter under rainy conditions.

Lunch in the Valley

Head north to Orderville where you will find many options to choose from for a great lunch! Archie’s Food to Die For, The Rock Stop Tacos, Shop Coffee Co. and Soup Town Café to name a few.

Return to Kanab

Enjoy some time at the Jacob Hamblin Park, with a playground, splash pad, skate park, basketball courts, tennis courts, and swimming pool it’s sure to keep the kids busy while you take some time to relax and unwind from your busy day.

Lotsa Motsa makes pizzas and other menu items with signature fresh, daily-made dough and high quality ingredients, resulting in a flavor that must be tasted to be believed. Enjoy dinner with a delicious, fresh pizza, salad or other offerings.

Evening

Enjoy a walk along Center Street in downtown Kanab.  Do some shopping at Denny’s Wigwam, Gifts of the West, Duke’s, Small Town Sage and more.  Stop by the Soda Fountain at Kanab Drug for an ice cream sundae or milkshake.  Finish off the evening at Nature’s Showcase for a one-of-a-kind sandstone souvenir.

Animal Encounters

Visit the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating animals. Take a guided tourof the santuary to learn about their work and meet some of the animals.  All the animals are sure to be a hit with the kids!

Have lunch where they take pride in offering fresh in house, family recipes. In addition to their delicious homemade ice cream, they also offer a variety of treats such as Grandma’s sweet rolls, fresh, thick and chewy cookies, gourmet grilled cheese, soup and salad. Additionally, there are gifts and crafts made from all over Utah in the shop.

Afternoon

Enjoy an afternoon playing in the water at Jackson Flat Reservoir. Enjoy this peaceful and relaxing setting surrounded by great views. Jackson Flat offers fishing, swimming, clean bathrooms, boulder climbing rocks, volleyball court, outdoor gym and Frisbee golf. In the colder months take a scenic walk around the paved, 3 mile Sherry Belle Trail that loops around the reservoir.
