Most of Southern Utah is desert so…be prepared for a true wilderness experience.
-Elevations change dramatically, so weather is variable. Keep an eye on regional weather reports and be prepared with appropriate clothes.
-Summer temperatures are hot and dry. The heat and sun can be relentless, so be realistic about planning your activities during summer months.
-WATER is very important. Whatever you are doing, drink water. If you are hiking, bring a minimum of one quart for every hour of hiking.
-Footwear: much of the hiking is over slickrock, sand and other challenging terrain. Don’t spoil your fun by wearing sandals when you needed more sensible footwear.
