Coyote Buttes is a section of the Paria Canyon-Vermilions Cliffs Wilderness in Utah divided into two distinct areas: Coyote Butte South and Coyote Butte North.

The southern portion includes hiking gems like Cottonwood Cove and Paw Hole , located among an alien landscape of twisting orange and red sandstone. The northern area is home to The Wave, a geological wonder so prized that just 20 lucky people a day are selected to see it. Enterprising desert hikers can also use their GPS to explore real dinosaur tracks preserved in stone.

Bring a 4WD high clearance vehicle and plenty of water, because the roads within Coyote Buttes are not for the faint of heart! Permits are required to access both areas.
